HOUSTON, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Newfield Exploration Company (NYSE: NFX) announced today that Elliott Pew has joined the Company as Vice President - Exploration and William D. Schneider has been promoted to Vice President - International Exploration.
Mr. Pew had been serving as Senior Vice President of Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas Company's Gulf Coast Region and prior to Louis Dreyfus' merger with American Exploration Company, as Senior Vice President of Exploration for American Exploration. At Newfield, Mr. Pew will have primary responsibility for domestic exploration activities and be a part of the management decision group which provides overall direction for the Company. Mr. Pew is a 1980 graduate of the University of Texas with a M.A. in Geology.
Mr. Schneider, one of the founders of Newfield Exploration Company, will have primary responsibility for Newfield's international efforts. Previously, Mr. Schneider has had responsibility for the Company's exploration efforts in the Gulf of Mexico, directing its onshore activities and most recently, international. He will continue as a member of Newfield's management decision group. Mr. Schneider is a 1975 graduate of Boston University with B.A. and M.A. degrees in Geology.
