HOUSTON, May 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Newfield Exploration Company (NYSE: NFX) today announced the election of John Randolph Kemp III to its board of directors. He was elected to the board at the Company's annual meeting held earlier today in Houston. Kemp has no other affiliations with the Company.
Kemp is the retired President, Exploration Production, Americas, of Conoco Inc. and a former Vice President of Du Pont. Kemp joined Conoco in 1966 and served in a variety of engineering and management positions. From 1993-98, Kemp served as Vice President, Exploration Production, for South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Kemp has broad North Sea experience and from 1988-93, served in various North Sea leadership positions, including President and Managing Director, Conoco Netherlands; Director and General Manager, Production, United Kingdom; and, President and Managing Director, Conoco Norway. Kemp retired from Conoco in 1999. Kemp holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
