HOUSTON, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Newfield Exploration Company (NYSE: NFX) announced that two first-time directors, Claire S. Farley and Randy A. Foutch, were elected to the Board of Directors at the Company's annual meeting held earlier today in Houston.
Claire S. Farley, 42, is the Chief Executive Officer of Trade Ranger, Inc. Trade Ranger is an on-line energy service, handling nearly 2,000 transactions per month. Prior to this position, she was the CEO of Intelligence Diagnostics, a developer of artificial intelligence software used to diagnose medical conditions. Before joining Intelligent Diagnostics, Farley was President of Texaco's World Wide Explorations and New Ventures, where she was responsible for adding oil and gas resources through exploration and acquisitions. She joined Texaco in 1981 as an exploration geologist and went on to drill the first horizontal well in the Gulf of Mexico and later led the strategy for 3-D seismic uses in marshes along the Gulf Coast. After positions of increasing responsibility, Farley was promoted to assistant to the Chairman and CEO of Texaco where she spent two years working on special projects. Following an assignment in Copenhagen, Denmark, as CEO of Hydro- Texaco in 1996, Farley became a corporate officer of Texaco in 1998 and was named President of North American Production. Farley holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Emory University.
Randy A. Foutch is Vice President - Mid-Continent. Prior to this position, Foutch was Founder and President of Lariat Petroleum, Inc., a private oil and gas company acquired by Newfield in January 2001. Lariat was founded in 1996 and grew to more than 250 billion cubic feet of proved reserves at the time of its acquisition. Prior to Lariat, Foutch founded and managed a second private company, Colt Resources. Prior to Colt, Foutch was Vice President of Exploration at Dyco Petroleum and the Rocky Mountain Regional Manager for the Anschutz Company. Foutch holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Texas and a Masters of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston. Foutch is involved in many civic and professional organizations. He serves on the board of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association and is the Chairman of the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board.
